We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

National Constitution Center


In 1988 Congress voted to create The National Constitution Center. After years of planning and design, on July 4, 2003 the Center opened its doors to the public.

The center includes a special multi-media presentation about the Consitution entitled "Freedom Rising", fraturing live actors films and video. The museum's "American Experience" exhibit takes the visitor through a virtual history of the country. and ends in "Signers Hall", a room filled with life size bronze statues of the 42 signers of the Constitution.

National Constitution Center

In addition to permanent exhibits, the center rotates changing exhibits, such as "Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War".

The National Constitution Center is located on Arch Street, between 5th & 6th Streets.
